Okay- long story short, I burnt out. I definitely cannot do full time studio work and several-updates-a-week a comic. It’s like having a part time job on top of a very demanding full time job. I burnt myself out real good.
But maybe…. somehow…. I can strike a balance.
YOU ARE BACK!!!!!!!!!! WWOOOOOO!!!!!! So much happiness happening in my mind tank right now.
Yay! Balance!
Hey, I hear that. I haven’t had the energy to work on comics regularly in months because of my day job. Paying work always takes priority.
These days it’s okay for a webcomic schedule to go sporadic, seeing as how most everyone follows comics either by Tumblr, RSS, Comic-Rocket, Belfry, or any number of other update notification methods. (And the people who don’t follow comics that way really should. I don’t get the dinosaur mentality of manually checking a bunch of sites every day!)
Yay update!
Yaaaaay!!! You’re back.
Wooooooo! Update! :D
I dont claim to speak for any of your fans besides myself.
I am thankful you give us a comic at all. No gripe, no complaint or grievance to speak of. You offer us all a small piece of your soul through art and comedy, and ask nothing in return. Stuff your sorrys in a sack and forget about it. Life is complex and never a smooth road for those of us who deserve it to be as such.
Thank you for what you do. Keep on creating, and I will keep checking in once a week. Its the internet, most of us have waited longer than 7 months for less than a little slice of humorous art.
Awesome, glad that you are back.
Especially since we left on a sour note (fart pun).
Really glad I checked in again. Really glad to see you making comics again, even if it’s not a regular thing. I’ve been burnt out too and it sucks. You’ll make it though!
So love this strip, especially the texture/paint of the cat. In terms of burn out – just remember it’s a marathon, not a sprint. Slow and steady – Your comics are awesome. Cheers!
yay your back and ooo -creeps back into the tar pits-
I understand the effects of burning out. I was all but forced to take time off work last month myself because it was not only affecting my job, but my mental health as well.
Hope you find that balance. And try to keep on top of it. Your health is more important that the comic (the comic is just a pleasant side effect that we all enjoy).
Came across your website today by accident, while looking for jokes to send to a seriously depressed friend.
What an awesome IW comic! Artistic ability combined with humour. Oh to have such talent – you are going to be cloned, aren’t you?
Thanks for the laughs.
(Oh, incidentally the joke I chose was: “What does a buffalo say to his kid before he goes to school? Bison.”)
