“Magical magical girl” makes me think of a magical girl who is pregnant with the next generation of magical girl. Sort of an involuntary “Yo Dawg” word association thing goin’ on in my head I guess.

There’s no glitter, they just get naked, and so the bad guys fight them nonstop just so they get to see young girls strip naked everytime they come into view.
The usual explanation I’ve seen (though it isn’t perfect and doesn’t explain instances where the girl’s transofmration sequence actually is interrupted) is that the transformation actually happens too fast to be interrupted, and the long, drawn-out sequence is for our benefit rather than an accurate reflection.
If she was already in her magical girl costume, what was she gonna turn into? O.O

My theory:
They can’t stop looking for the panty shot / moment of fuzzy-lensed nakedness.
I’ve always assumed the magical/sparkly background is some kind of dense EM barrier. Touch at your own peril.
Just like those sorcerer guys that always use some sort of religious prayer for their spells.

If I remember correctly, there is a Devil Hunter Yohko episode, where a demon does this exactly (or tries to at least).
