Full disclosure: I really enjoyed the Avengers movie and most of those tweaks were for the better. Everything past panel 1 is fiction. I got a kick out drawing this- it’s a bit of a poke at my pedantic side, which I try to keep muzzled. (I occasionally fail)

I DISCUSS THINGS THAT HAPPEN IN THE MOVIE HERE, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
Purple Hawkeye would have looked weird, and Hulk was too big in the other movies anyways. Civil War can wait, Thanos will be awesome. Spiderman will probably be added once the franchaise is rebooted, but if not (rights?) I’m quite comfortable with the current level of wise-cracks supplied by Stark. Also, Stark/Banner have really great onscreen chemistry- I want to watch the spinoff series where they develop technology to help mankind and go clubbing afterwards. I don’t even like clubbing, I just feel like that would happen.

Again, sorry for the late update. If it matters, I felt super guilty.
Hey I’m sure the movie is perfectly accurate for some cancelled TV show or a Marvel comic series with only 4 released issues.
Spiderman’s rights are owned by Fox, I believe. Marvel didn’t have their own thing when Spiderman was going on. They’ll probably only add in one or two more people in-between meet-up movies (I’m sure we’ll get some new guy in Thor 2 or Iron Man 3 or whatever else is around the corner.) I was mainly just pissed that Ant-Man and Wasp weren’t in it. I mean, like… They were two of the original Avengers, man.
True, but I understand that decision. This movie was pretty much an establishing movie to flesh out the idea of the avengers. Most of the characters (even the antagonist) had been in movies before, this was just bringing them all together. Introducing three new avengers instead of one to the movie crowd would dilute each one and make the movie incredibly crowded, like in Spiderman 3 when there were three new villains plus Gwen Stacey. Plus, Ant-Man and the Wasp are two characters with the same powers (Pym is also a little too similar to Banner to really stand out) and Hawkeye is a safer guy to introduce to the mainstream audience because of the whole wife-beating thing.
Not to mention the fact that Hawkeye is new only in the sense that he wasn’t named (I don’t think) in Thor, and if you paid attention to Thor and/or watched it for the first damn time right before Avengers, you went ‘oh hey I remember that dude.’
I wouldn’t mind if Pym came along and immediately did Giant Man rather than Ant Man.
Purple would’ve made him look like a tool. Worked in the comics/cartoons, but when your outfit has to compete against MK VI/VII, Thor’s getup, The Hulk, and even Black Widow’s assassin outfit, the best way to go is to not play at all.
This will be hard to believe, but he does have purple. Just very very little of it. And it’s only for like the final scene. And it’s kinda red. BUT IT’S THERE.
Stark/Banner, build tech in the day, run a nightclub and solve mysteries at night.
