I like doing colour- I think I’ll keep doing it for now.
It’s weird hearing a cat sigh.
I like that you spell colour properly.
I assume it’s because she’s a proper lady, right?
I’m pretty sure both “color” and “colour” are acceptable.
I’m American so I bastardize words be replacing or excluding letters, and somehow get away with it (Not really).
They are both grammatically correct, yes
But since America is world leader, all other English speaking nation should follow our lead. COLOR IT IS! Beeeooooweeeeoooweeeooow (that’s an electric guitar)
i think colour and cheque are strange ways to spell color and check. yes, i am american.
I was a small child in Maine, and many of the books I read came from Quebec, hus spelled things like colour and honour and armour thusly. When I moved to California as I child, I was penalized in elementary school for spelling those words in that fashion. The teachers could not explain to me why it was it was spelled improperly, they could only assert that they were spelled wrong.
So I kinda resent that, since if it was in books that grown ups would read, how could it be wrong, especially if they couldn’t explain why it was wrong.
So I now sometimes use the British English just to screw with people (I am a mature college student).
Cheque does look weird to me though… probably because who the heck writes checks anymore and is under the age of 85?
My cat sighs all the time. It’s weird when friends cats don’t.
Armour, colour, segue, all those poor, poor words, cut down in their prime.
And they almost never use the word queue. It’s a good word!
